Edmonton Police Warn Public of Violent Sex Offender Ryan White's Release
EPS Warns of Violent Sex Offender Ryan White's Release

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has issued a public warning regarding the release of Ryan White, a 44-year-old convicted violent sexual offender who will be residing in Edmonton. Authorities have reasonable grounds to believe that White poses a significant risk of committing another sexual offence while in the community.

Background of Offences

White has a history of physically harming his victims, with previous offences targeting adult women, particularly vulnerable individuals such as sex workers. His criminal record also includes the physical assault of a toddler and an elderly woman.

Previous Warning

This marks the second time in two years that police have issued a warning about White's release. The EPS behavioral assessment unit will manage his case under strict court-ordered conditions.

Court-Ordered Conditions

White is subject to several conditions designed to protect the public. He must reside at an address approved by his supervisor and cannot change it without authorization. A daily curfew is in effect from midnight to 5 a.m., unless written permission is granted. He is prohibited from traveling outside Edmonton without written approval from his supervisor.

Additionally, White is barred from contacting or frequenting areas where sex workers are known to solicit. He must abstain from consuming or possessing alcohol or drugs. If he enters any personal, sexual, or intimate relationship, he must notify his supervisor and, if the relationship is with a woman, disclose his criminal history to her.

Public Assistance Requested

The EPS urges anyone with information about White's behavior, conduct, or potential breaches of his conditions to contact them at 780-423-4567. The police emphasize the importance of community vigilance in preventing further offences.
