S/Y Simena to Feature at Monaco's 2026 Day of Exploration Event

The Yacht Club de Monaco is set to host a landmark event in March 2026, welcoming the prestigious S/Y Simena explorer yacht as part of the "Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting" initiative. From 21 to 24 March 2026, the Day of Exploration will bring together a diverse group of explorers, scientists, industry leaders, and yacht captains to shape the future of maritime innovation.

A Gathering of Pioneers in Yachting

This four-day event, organized in collaboration with the Explorers Club of New York, aims to position Monaco as a global hub for cutting-edge yachting technology and ocean exploration. The initiative reflects a long-term vision focused on sustainability, scientific discovery, and responsible maritime practices, attracting key figures from around the world.

S/Y Simena Takes Center Stage

A highlight of the 2026 Day of Exploration will be the arrival of the S/Y Simena, a 62-meter explorer yacht delivered by the renowned Turkish shipyard, ARES Yachts. Following its departure from the shipyard, the yacht will make its inaugural stop at the YCM Marina's Explorer Dock on the morning of 22 March, serving as a central feature of the event's program.

Designed for both exploration and high performance, S/Y Simena embodies ARES Yachts' commitment to innovation and craftsmanship. Its presence at the Explorer Dock underscores the shared goals of ARES Yachts and the Yacht Club de Monaco: advancing technology, supporting scientific research, and promoting eco-friendly yachting practices.

Upon arrival, the sailing yacht will welcome invited guests during the official opening of the Explorer Dock. In the afternoon, it will host a select group onboard to observe a private regatta, offering privileged viewing conditions. Throughout 23 and 24 March, S/Y Simena will remain docked, participating actively in the event's busy schedule. Access to the Explorer Dock is reserved for Explorer Club members, YCM members, and captains, with private visits potentially arranged at anchor for others.

Environmental Commitment and Recognition

The event will conclude on Sunday with a focus on environmental sustainability, featuring the SEA Index®, an environmental benchmarking tool developed by the Yacht Club de Monaco and certified by Lloyd's Register for yachts over 24 meters. S/Y Simena has successfully achieved SEA Index certification, demonstrating ARES Yachts' dedication to measurable environmental performance and continuous improvement.

This will be followed by an exclusive cocktail reception onboard Simena for approximately 120 invited guests, supported by ARES Yachts, The Explorers Club, and the Yacht Club de Monaco. The evening celebrates a collective commitment to exploration, innovation, and environmental stewardship in the yachting industry.

Awards and Accolades

Adding to its prestige, S/Y Simena has been nominated for the 6th YCM Explorer Awards by La Belle Classe Superyachts. The awards will be presented on 24 March in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, President of the Yacht Club de Monaco. Since 2019, these awards have recognized owners and projects that utilize yachts for exploration, scientific research, technological innovation, and environmental responsibility, highlighting Simena's alignment with these values.
