TeleMiracle 50 Shatters Fundraising Record with $10.5 Million Haul
TeleMiracle 50 Sets New Record, Raises $10.5 Million

TeleMiracle, Saskatchewan's beloved annual telethon, has marked its 50th anniversary with an unprecedented fundraising achievement, setting a new record by raising $10,521,072. The 22-hour event, broadcast from Prairieland Park in Saskatoon on February 28 and March 1, 2026, far surpassed the previous record of $8,002,722 set in 2022, showcasing the enduring generosity of the province.

A Legacy of Community Support

For five decades, TeleMiracle has been a cornerstone of Saskatchewan's charitable efforts, raising funds for the Kinsmen Foundation. This organization provides critical grants to individuals requiring medical travel assistance or specialized mobility and special needs equipment. Since its inception in 1977, when it raised $1,214,210, TeleMiracle has now accumulated over $181 million in total donations, directly impacting thousands of families across the region.

Record-Breaking Contributions

The milestone 50th edition was highlighted by a remarkable bequest donation of $2.35 million from Alice Tindall, which significantly boosted the final tally. This contribution was complemented by numerous other five- and six-digit bequests, memorials, and gifts, all contributing to the historic total. Tammy Blackwell, chair of TeleMiracle 50, emphasized the event's role in fostering a legacy of generosity and volunteerism, expressing hope for its continuation for years to come.

Danika Dinko, executive director of the Kinsmen Foundation, praised the incredible support, noting that the funds raised will directly enhance the quality of life for many Saskatchewan residents. All proceeds from TeleMiracle remain within the province, ensuring that local communities benefit from every dollar donated.

Star-Studded Broadcast and Performances

The telethon featured a vibrant lineup of performers and hosts, blending familiar faces with new additions. Annual co-hosts included Canadian singers Jeffery Straker, Beverley Mahood, and Brad Johner, while newcomers such as broadcaster George Stroumboulopoulos, TSN sports host Kate Beirness, Regina-born country singer Jojo Mason, comedians Myles Morrison and Matt Donlevy, and CTV Regina weather anchor Sabeen Ahmad added fresh energy to the event. Approximately six dozen performers entertained audiences through live acts and pre-recorded segments, making the broadcast a memorable celebration of community spirit.

This record-breaking achievement underscores TeleMiracle's vital role in supporting Saskatchewan's most vulnerable, reinforcing its status as a testament to the power of collective giving and volunteerism.
