In a tale that reads like a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde saga, former corrections officer turned stripper Sukhpreet Singh and career criminal Tatum Ogden have allegedly reignited their passion for theft. The couple, who first made headlines in 2019 for their whirlwind romance and criminal exploits, now face a new set of charges in Caledon, Ontario.
The Original Story
In 2019, Singh was a married guard at the Toronto South Detention Centre when she met Ogden, an inmate with a lengthy criminal record. Their romance blossomed behind bars, and soon Singh was pregnant with Ogden's child. After his release, the pair embarked on a crime spree, using Singh's mother's Jeep Wrangler as a getaway vehicle for an armed robbery at a Brampton Subway shop and a violent heist at a Huntsville motel.
Recent Arrests
Fast forward to January 2026, and the couple was arrested again, this time in Wasaga Beach while driving a stolen car. Ogden faces multiple charges, including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, operation while prohibited, resisting arrest, escaping lawful custody, and several counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000. Singh was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and five counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000. None of these charges have been proven in court.
Love Behind Bars
Despite their legal troubles, the couple's bond appears unbreakable. On Instagram, Singh once posted: "I miss you. Not a day goes by when I don't think of you... I can't think of anyone that I want to kiss and smack at the same time. We were the perfect ying and yang." Ogden, in a Toronto courtroom, declared: "I love her to pieces. She is my wife. I have never loved anybody like I loved her."
A History of Crime
Ogden's criminal record includes 54 prior convictions. In 2020, he was sentenced to three years for a series of robberies, including a break-in at Singh's father's Tandoori restaurant, where he allegedly stole $100. The couple now resides in Caledon with their child, and their story continues to captivate the public.
As retired Toronto Sun court reporter Sam Pazzano noted, "Love conquers all." But for Singh and Ogden, it seems love also conquers the law.
