Local Artisans Take Center Stage at BC Home + Garden Show

The 2026 BC Home + Garden Show is set to celebrate the creativity and craftsmanship of local makers, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore a diverse array of handmade goods. From intricate jewelry and functional ceramics to artisanal foods and stylish clothing, the event highlights the talent within British Columbia's artisan community.

Meet the Makers Behind the Products

One of the standout features of this year's show is the chance for attendees to meet the artisans in person. Carol-Lee Campbell, a potter from Walnut Grove in Langley, expresses her excitement about participating. "I'm absolutely thrilled to have been given the opportunity to showcase my work at the BC Home + Garden Show this year," says Campbell, who operates under the name Campbell Original Pottery. She creates small-batch, wheel-thrown stoneware in her home studio, focusing on functional pieces that embody the warmth and simplicity of natural elements like rock, water, and earth.

Campbell emphasizes the value of direct customer interaction, noting, "One of the things I love most about running this small business is getting to meet my fellow community members and customers at markets and events like this." She cherishes the stories behind each purchase, whether it's for gifting or home decor, and appreciates the support from repeat customers.

Curating a Diverse Market Experience

The Collective Markets, organized by Caitlyn Domijan, Jessica Hailstone, and Meghan Railton, is making its debut at the BC Home + Garden Show, replacing Got Craft. With a history of curating artisanal markets since 2018 and managing around 75 market dates annually, the team has carefully selected approximately 20 vendors from their database to ensure a wide appeal.

Domijan highlights the importance of supporting small businesses and fostering personal connections. "Supporting small businesses and meeting the person that you're supporting are so invaluable right now," she explains. The market aims to cater to all visitors, including families and pet owners, with a strong emphasis on home decor items.

Featured Vendors and Their Offerings

The show will feature a variety of local vendors, each bringing their unique creations to the forefront:

  • Jorge Izaza from Salt Spring Island, who crafts distinctive light fixtures from wood.
  • Flak'd Foods, a granola maker run by Vancouver nutritionist Samantha Stojkovich.
  • Premium Hot Chocolate Choices, owned by Vancouver husband-and-wife team Bonnie Duncan and Timm Rittberg.
  • fancycuppa, operated by Surrey-based Kati Kuo, offering specialty grade instant decaf coffee.

These artisans represent the breadth of handmade products available, from functional home goods to gourmet treats, ensuring there's something for every taste and interest.

The show promises to be a celebration of craftsmanship, innovation, and the vibrant spirit of British Columbia's small business community.
