The culinary landscape of Vancouver is set for a major upgrade with the announcement of the first wave of acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs joining the highly anticipated Time Out Market at Oakridge Park.
A Who's Who of Vancouver Chefs
The initial lineup of food vendors reads like a culinary hall of fame for the city. The roster includes celebrated chef Rob Feenie of Le Crocodile, Chanthy Yen, the 2024 winner of Top Chef Canada, Nutcha Phanthoupheng, the chef-owner of the acclaimed Richmond Thai restaurant Baan Lao, and the popular operators behind The Lunch Lady, DownLow Chicken, and Bar Bravo.
Massive Scale and Ambitious Vision
Situated at 650 W. 41st Ave. within the massive Oakridge development, Time Out Market Vancouver will span an impressive 50,000 square feet. The dining hall is planned to be the heart of the mixed-use complex and will feature 18 individual kitchens, a dedicated coffee counter, and a dessert outlet. With a capacity of over 1,000 seats, the space will also include three bars and an outdoor terrace.
Julien Lavoie, the General Manager of Time Out Market Vancouver, described the vision as bringing the best of the city under one roof. He stated the market is designed to be a vibrant community hub and a new destination for both locals and visitors, packed with outstanding culinary and cultural experiences.
Exciting New Concepts from Culinary Stars
Each chef is bringing a unique concept to the market. Rob Feenie will pivot from his classic French cuisine to serve gourmet burgers, including a version of Le Crocodile's famed Burger De Maison.
Chanthy Yen, formerly a private chef for Justin Trudeau, will debut a new Cambodian concept, pushing culinary boundaries. The celebrated The Lunch Lady will continue its mission of serving Vietnamese street food inspired by its namesake, chef Nguyen Thi Thanh.
Nutcha Phanthoupheng will open MaKaam, a modern artisan outlet serving Thai favourites. For those seeking casual comfort food, DownLow Chicken will offer its classic menu, including The OG Sando and Signature DL Mac n Cheese. From Bar Bravo, the Barnacle counter will serve a selection of B.C.'s best raw and cooked seafood curated by chef Jonah Joffe.
The food market will be part of the larger Oakridge Park development, a 28-acre site that will include over 140 boutiques, condos, offices, and park space. The entire development is slated to open in the spring of 2026.
