Honda has announced a recall of more than 880,000 vehicles in the United States due to a defect in the rear suspension components. The issue, which affects certain models, could potentially increase the risk of a crash if left unaddressed.
Details of the Recall
The recall covers specific Honda and Acura models from recent years. According to the company, the rear suspension subframe may have been improperly manufactured, leading to possible separation of the rear suspension components. This could result in reduced vehicle control and an increased likelihood of an accident.
Affected Models
While Honda has not released the full list of affected models, the recall includes popular vehicles such as the Honda Civic, Accord, and CR-V, as well as Acura models like the MDX and RDX. Owners can check their vehicle identification number (VIN) on Honda's recall website to determine if their car is included.
Safety Concerns
Honda stated that it has received reports of incidents related to this issue, though no injuries or fatalities have been confirmed. The company urges owners to take the recall seriously and schedule repairs as soon as possible.
Repair Process
Dealers will inspect the rear suspension and, if necessary, replace the subframe at no cost to the owner. Honda will begin notifying affected customers by mail starting in July 2026. Owners can also contact Honda customer service for more information.
Previous Recalls
This is not the first recall for Honda this year. In March, the automaker recalled over 500,000 vehicles due to a fuel pump issue. The company continues to prioritize safety and quality control.
