Atletico Ottawa head coach Diego Mejia is leaving the club at the end of the month, the team announced Thursday. Mejia has been at the helm since 2023 and led the squad to its first Canadian Premier League championship in November 2025, defeating Cavalry FC in extra time to capture the North Star Cup.
The club did not provide a reason for his departure or name a replacement. Mejia's contract was set to expire after the 2026 season. He leaves with a record of 32 wins, 28 losses, and 18 draws in all competitions.
Under Mejia, Atletico Ottawa also reached the Canadian Championship semifinals in 2024. The team currently sits third in the CPL standings with a 4-2-3 record.
