RTOERO Rebrands as Entente Education Canada, Appoints New CEO
RTOERO Rebrands, Names Glenn O'Farrell as New CEO

The national organization known for decades as RTOERO is entering a new era with a fresh identity and new leadership. The group will now operate under the name Entente Education Canada, effective January 1, 2026.

A New Leader for a Transformative Phase

Coinciding with this significant rebranding, the Board of Directors has appointed Glenn O’Farrell as the organization's new Chief Executive Officer. His tenure begins on the same date as the name change, January 1, 2026. O’Farrell steps into the role with over 25 years of senior executive experience, tasked with guiding the social enterprise through its next strategic chapter.

The board selected O’Farrell specifically to steer the implementation of the ambitious 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. His extensive background in strategic growth and stakeholder engagement across both private and public sectors was cited as a key factor in the decision.

Pillars of the 2026-2030 Strategic Vision

The strategic plan that O’Farrell will lead focuses on three core pillars designed to shape the organization's future impact.

The first pillar is Voice and Advocacy. Entente Education Canada aims to establish itself as the trusted national voice promoting healthy and active living for older adults.

The second pillar, Member Impact, is dedicated to directly improving the lives of its members and the participants in its group health insurance programs.

The third pillar is Strategic Growth, with goals to broaden both overall membership and participation in its signature not-for-profit insurance plans.

Building on a Legacy of Service

John Cappelletti, Chair of the Board of Directors, expressed confidence in the new appointment. "As we approach this important moment in our organization’s evolution, Glenn’s leadership and vision will be invaluable," Cappelletti stated. "His strategic mindset and strong commitment to our values make him ideally suited to guide us as we transition to Entente Education Canada."

Incoming CEO Glenn O’Farrell acknowledged the weight of the organization's legacy. "I am honoured by the trust placed in me and excited to join this community at such a defining time," O’Farrell said. "This organization has a remarkable legacy of over five decades of service." He emphasized his commitment to listening and collaborating with the board, staff, and members to strengthen the group's national impact.

O’Farrell brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role, including previous positions as CEO of OmbudService Life and Health Insurance, President and CEO of Groupe Média TFO, and Chair of the Ontario Energy Board. He is also a Member of the Order of Canada.

The organization, which will retain its bilingual nature, currently has a robust network of more than 87,000 members across 51 districts in Canada. It also manages a non-profit group health insurance program that covers over 100,000 people nationwide. Membership remains open to anyone working in or retired from the Canadian education sector, along with their immediate families.

The rebrand to Entente Education Canada and the leadership transition mark a pivotal step for the group as it seeks to expand its advocacy and services for healthy, active aging across the country.
