Windsor police arrest one, seek second suspect in sex assault

Windsor police have taken one individual into custody and are actively searching for a second suspect following an alleged sexual assault that occurred in the city's downtown area.

According to authorities, officers responded to a report of a sexual assault in the 800 block of Ouellette Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m. on March 28.

Police stated that the female victim had been socializing at a nearby establishment before entering a vehicle with two men she had met earlier that evening.

The victim reportedly lost consciousness after getting into the vehicle, investigators said. When she regained awareness, she discovered she was being sexually assaulted in the backseat while the second man drove the vehicle.

The assault continued, and the woman was later dropped off in the 800 block of Ouellette Avenue, police reported.

Around 4 a.m., officers located and arrested a 19-year-old male at a residence in the downtown area. He has been charged with sexual assault.

Investigators are now working to identify the second male suspect, who is alleged to have been driving the vehicle during the incident.
