Officers responded to the 800 block of Ouellette Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m. on May 3 following a report of two men appearing unresponsive inside a car.

Officers woke both individuals and safely removed them from the car. The driver was arrested without incident. A search of the driver revealed multiple suspected drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia and a digital scale. Additional suspected fentanyl was later found on the passenger, leading to his arrest.

Authorities noted that the keys were in the ignition, but the vehicle had been parked for an extended period, resulting in a dead battery and rendering the car inoperable.

A 43-year-old man and a 38-year-old man each face three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. The older suspect is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
