“This is one of those days that stops you in your tracks,” said social media user Linda Fersch on Tuesday.

“As a mom of a crane operator, hearing the news left me with a heavy heart. My thoughts immediately went to the people involved, their families, their coworkers, and the countless loved ones now waiting for answers.”

Oliver’s Funeral Home & Crematorium echoed the sentiments.

“Our hearts and thoughts are with J.D.A. and everyone affected by yesterday’s tragic events,” they wrote on Wednesday.

“We are holding all those impacted close in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. We extend our care and support to the families, friends, first responders, and all members of our community as they navigate the days ahead.”

Fersch wrote the family of the victim, and his colleagues, should be thought of at this time.

“It could be anyone’s son. Anyone’s husband. Anyone’s brother. Anyone’s father,” she said, adding her heart also goes out to the entire team at J.D.A. Ventures.

“This is a well-known and respected Grande Prairie company that has been part of our community for many years. Incidents like this impact far more than those directly involved. They ripple through families, workplaces, friendships, and an entire community.”

Motivational speaker and former law enforcement officer Amanda Stuhl also offered her support.

“My thoughts and prayers are with everyone at J.D.A. Trucking, the family and loved ones of the driver, the First Responders who answered the call, the witnesses, safety officers, and all those whose lives have been touched by this tragedy,” she wrote.

“We mourn a life lost, stand with those who are grieving, and pray for strength and healing for everyone affected.”
