One driver struck a person who had stopped on the shoulder to check a tractor-trailer load. The victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver involved remained at the scene, while the other vehicle fled. Both cars were BMWs. Two left lanes remained closed Sunday afternoon, causing delays.

Earlier Sunday afternoon, Toronto Police responded to a shooting in the Fort York area. At approximately 2:30 p.m., reports of gunfire near Queens Wharf Road and Fort York Boulevard led officers to a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound.
