Mounties responded to reports of a body on Highway 1 between exits 86 and 89 at approximately 12:23 a.m. on Monday. The initial call was made by a passing motorist who alerted police to the situation. Upon arrival, officers located the deceased individual at the scene.

Autopsy Results

An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary identified the victim as a 24-year-old Canmore man. The cause of death has not been disclosed, but the investigation is ongoing.

Police are urging anyone who was traveling along that stretch of Highway 1 between 11:00 p.m. on May 10 and 1:00 a.m. on May 11 to check their dash cam footage.
