Moore's Ex-Mistress Reveals Pregnancy and Abuse Allegations

Paige Shiver, the former mistress and assistant to fired University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore, has broken her silence about their "inappropriate relationship" and revealed that she became pregnant during their time together.

Shiver's Emotional Interview

In an exclusive interview with ABC News that aired on Good Morning America, Shiver became emotional as she recounted her experience. She explained that she wanted to "keep the baby" despite doctors advising termination after the unborn child was diagnosed with Pompe disease, a genetic disorder that weakens muscle strength.

"Multiple doctors and experts told me that it wouldn't be right or healthy for me to keep the baby," a visibly emotional Shiver told reporter Linsey Davis. Shiver said Moore, who was aware of the pregnancy and its complications, allegedly told her to "do what's right for your body."

The Relationship and Power Dynamics

The 32-year-old, who worked as Moore's executive assistant, reflected on their years-long affair, admitting she once believed they were in love. "Back then, I did, but obviously looking back at things and really reflecting on what happened, what was happening, that's not love at all," she said.

The consensual relationship began when she was an intern in 2022. She was promoted to be his assistant in 2024, when he became the university's head coach. "He could fire me in a second," Shiver said of Moore's control over her job security. "Here's a man that had complete control over me — over my emotions, over my career. And he knew that and he used it against me."

Attempts to Distance Herself

Shiver explained that when she tried to distance herself from Moore, he reeled her back in. "He always had a story, always had a way to pull me in and making me feel that I couldn't leave him because he was so miserable without me," she said.

Ultimately, Shiver reported Moore to the university, leading to his termination as coach on Dec. 10, 2025. That same day, Moore, 40, was arrested for allegedly attacking a then-unidentified woman at her home — shortly before the university announced his firing.

The Alleged Attack

Shiver recounted the terrifying incident: "All of the sudden I hear footsteps and they're getting closer and louder, so I'm like, 'Crap.' So I run to my door to try to lock it. He barges in and he's standing this close to me and he said, 'You ruined my life, why would you do this to me?' And I started backing up and he starts following me."

She said she feared for her life, noting his intimidating size and disturbing demeanour. "Oh my gosh, yes. He's 6'4" and he comes in with his hood up, looking down at me saying I ruined his life, crying and he starts coming at me and I tell him to leave. He's not supposed to be here. He's not listening to me. And then he starts grabbing butter knives."

Legal Consequences

Moore entered a no-contest plea in March for misdemeanor charges of malicious use of a telecommunications device in the context of a domestic relationship and trespassing. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation on April 14, after the judge said he didn't believe jail was appropriate — though he warned "all bets are off" if Moore violates the probation terms. He was also fined $1,000.

"I think he should have gotten more punishment for what he did," Shiver said. Moore's attorney, Ellen Michaels, said in a statement: "Sherrone Moore has closed this chapter."
