Nova Scotia Health officials say the launch of the One Person One Record system is already receiving good feedback. Eileen MacGibbon, the Central Zone's vice president of operations, and Dr. Aaron Smith, Central Zone medical executive director for Nova Scotia Health, spent the weekend at the hospital to support the rollout of the new electronic health record system.
The initiative aims to consolidate patient information into a single digital record, improving efficiency and patient care. Officials noted that the transition has been smooth, with staff adapting quickly to the new system. The positive feedback from both healthcare providers and patients underscores the potential benefits of the centralized record system.
One Person One Record is expected to reduce duplication of tests, minimize errors, and provide a comprehensive view of patient history. As the rollout continues, Nova Scotia Health plans to expand the system to more facilities across the province.
