York Regional Police have arrested and charged a massage therapist following a sexual assault investigation, and authorities believe there may be additional victims.

Thong (Tony) Tran, 55, of Brampton, was arrested on May 11 and charged with sexual assault. The alleged incident occurred at a massage clinic where Tran was employed. Police have not disclosed the location or date of the alleged assault, citing the ongoing investigation.
Police Appeal for Victims
Investigators are concerned that there may be other individuals who have had similar experiences with Tran. They are urging anyone who may have been a victim or who has information to contact the York Regional Police Sexual Assault Unit. Detective Constable Sarah Lee stated, 'We believe there may be more survivors who have not yet come forward. We encourage them to speak with us in a safe and confidential environment.'
Context of the Case
The arrest comes amid a broader awareness of sexual misconduct in healthcare settings. Massage therapy is a regulated health profession in Ontario, and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario has been notified of the charges. The college may take disciplinary action pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.
