Jeremy Clarkson Reveals Prostate Cancer Diagnosis on Clarkson's Farm
Jeremy Clarkson has disclosed that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, a revelation made in the final two episodes of his Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm. The 66-year-old former Top Gear star shared the news with co-stars Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper, who work alongside him at Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds.
In the emotionally charged episodes, Clarkson told his stunned colleagues, "I've got cancer. It's aggressive but it's really early." He further explained that 10% of his prostate, "where the cancer is," is "dead." The diagnosis was made in May 2024, but Clarkson kept it private for over a year.
Cooper and Ireland were visibly upset, with Cooper urging Clarkson to "look after yourself" and Ireland wishing him "a very, very speedy recovery." The episodes show Clarkson receiving treatment in hospital, highlighting his journey.
Clarkson emphasized the importance of early detection, stating, "If I hadn't have got myself checked out and they hadn't caught the problem early, this could well have been my last harvest. It's only because they did catch it early there's any hope. I'll be harvesting this farm for many, many years to come." He noted that he was given just six days' notice before his operation on August 4, 2024.
Season 5, filmed from late 2024 to September 2025, follows Clarkson's attempts to run a 1,000-acre farm with no agricultural experience. This season concludes with a somber cliffhanger, showing Clarkson rushed back to hospital by ambulance. In a hospital bed, he says, "Some of the treatment has gone awry, let's say. I'm going to be here for a little while. I'm nil by mouth. I don't know what's going to happen. If this is all successful, I'll see you for Season 6, and if it isn't, I won't. Take care everyone."
This is not Clarkson's first cancer scare. In 2015, he was told a lump on his tongue was probably cancer, but he delayed treatment due to Top Gear commitments, which ultimately led to his firing after a physical altercation with a producer.
Prime Video has not announced a sixth season, and production is expected to be paused for Clarkson's recovery. The star's candid revelation has sparked conversations about early detection and men's health.
