Vancouver is well known for its thriving doughnut scene, offering everything from classic jelly-filled treats to gourmet creations served alongside fried chicken and cocktails. Now, the city's vegan doughnut options are receiving national recognition.
Lucky's Doughnuts Makes PETA's Top 10
In celebration of National Doughnut Day on June 5, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released its list of Canada's 10 best vegan doughnut options, and Vancouver's own Lucky's Doughnuts has earned a spot. The shop, with locations at 2902 Main Street and 689 Thurlow Street, offers a variety of both vegan and non-vegan treats.
PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk praised the selection, stating, "All the doughnut shops on PETA's list are on a roll, serving delicious sweets that leave animals in peace — and leave doughnut lovers smiling. From vanilla pistachio to mango chocolate, Lucky's Doughnuts delivers fabulous flavour without a crumb of cruelty to chickens or cows."
