A 44-year-old individual from Pickering has been charged with impaired driving following a traffic stop conducted in Tecumseh, Ontario. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, prompting a response from the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Details of the Traffic Stop
At approximately 7:45 a.m., an OPP traffic officer observed a parked vehicle on Manning Road at the Highway 401 overpass in Tecumseh. Upon investigation, the officer determined that the motorist was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams per 100 milliliters of blood, a violation of the Criminal Code.

In addition to the impaired driving charge, the accused faces several other offenses under the Highway Traffic Act. These include parking on a highway in a manner that interferes with traffic, having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available, driving a motor vehicle without a valid permit, and failing to notify the authorities of a change of address. The individual was also issued a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension, and the vehicle involved was impounded for a period of seven days.
