A 57-year-old Toronto man has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault after allegedly preying on clients while presenting himself as an energy healer and homeopath life coach in North York over a span of several years.
Toronto Police announced the arrest of Jai Veer Etvaru on Thursday, following an investigation that began after a sexual assault call in the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Leslie Street on June 2. Police allege that Etvaru advertised his services online through the website www.jaiwellbeing.com, offering a range of alternative therapies including energy healing, astrology, massage, counseling, and homeopathic life coaching.
According to police, the alleged assaults occurred between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2024, while Etvaru was providing these services to clients. The charges include four counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference, and one count of sexual exploitation. The sexual interference charge indicates an alleged victim under the age of 16, while the sexual exploitation charge is typically applied when the accused holds a position of trust or authority over the victim.
Investigators have released a photograph of Etvaru, who may also go by the name Jai Mangal Krishnanad, due to concerns that there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. Police urge anyone with information related to this case to contact the Sex Crimes Unit at 416-808-7474 or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify any other individuals who may have been victimized by Etvaru during his time operating as a homeopath life coach in North York.
