Tornado Warnings Lifted in Eastern Ontario
Environment Canada has ended tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of eastern Ontario as a line of storms moved through the region on Thursday afternoon. The alerts, which were in effect for areas including Ottawa and surrounding communities, were dropped by late afternoon after the worst of the weather passed.
The storms brought heavy rain, strong winds, and the threat of isolated tornadoes. There were no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries. The warnings were issued earlier in the day as a cold front collided with warm, humid air, creating conditions favorable for severe weather.
Residents were advised to take shelter and monitor alerts. By 5:39 p.m. EDT, all warnings had expired. Environment Canada continues to monitor conditions for any further developments.
