Calgary is set to enjoy another day of warmth on Thursday before a multi-day rain event moves in starting Friday night, according to Jodi Hughes of the Sky Watch Weather Centre.
Thursday's Warmth
Thursday will bring above-seasonal temperatures, with highs reaching the mid-20s Celsius under partly sunny skies. This marks the last day of dry weather before a significant shift.
Multi-Day Rain Event Begins Friday Night
A low-pressure system is expected to arrive Friday evening, bringing widespread rain that will persist through the weekend and into early next week. Total rainfall amounts could reach 30 to 50 mm in some areas, Hughes reported.
“We’re looking at a prolonged period of wet weather, starting Friday night and lasting through Monday,” Hughes said in the forecast video. “This system will bring steady rain, not just showers, so plan accordingly.”
Weekend Outlook
Saturday and Sunday will be cloudy and wet, with temperatures dropping to the low teens. The rain may be heavy at times, increasing the risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas. Monday will see lingering showers before conditions gradually improve by Tuesday.
