Alcohol Likely Factor in B.C. Crash Causing House Fire

RCMP in British Columbia say alcohol was likely a contributing factor in a crash that resulted in a house fire in Chilliwack on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the 46000 block of Yale Road just after 6 p.m. on June 16, 2026, where a vehicle had struck a residence, causing a fire to break out.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody and is facing potential impaired driving charges. No other injuries were reported, but the home sustained significant damage.
