Seaspan Corporation, a leading independent maritime asset owner and operator, has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance for the year ending December 31, 2025. The report highlights advancements in decarbonization, safety, workforce development, and governance practices.

Decarbonization and Fleet Modernization

Seaspan continued investing in vessel efficiency and expanding its dual-fuel fleet, collaborating with customers to meet evolving regulatory requirements. The company strengthened its data and reporting systems to support these efforts, aligning with the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles.

Safety and Workforce Initiatives

Strong safety results were achieved through targeted training, clear accountability, and a culture prioritizing safe operations. Seaspan also focused on employee wellbeing, retention, and diversity, including initiatives to support female seafarers and develop the next generation of maritime professionals.

The company enhanced its focus on ethical conduct, cybersecurity, and supply chain due diligence, reinforcing a robust governance framework. Sustainability remains central to Seaspan’s long-term strategy, embedded in how it operates assets, supports people, and partners with customers to deliver safe, reliable, and economical maritime services.

As of March 31, 2026, Seaspan’s operating fleet consisted of 247 vessels, pro forma for undelivered newbuilds (including two Very Large Ethane Carriers and four Open Hatch Gantry Crane vessels signed in April 2026), with a total fleet capacity of approximately 2.5 million TEU on a fully delivered basis.
