Midland Begins Drilling on Willbob Gold Project in Labrador Trough

Midland Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: MD) has announced the commencement of a drilling and prospecting campaign on its wholly owned Willbob project in the Labrador Trough. The project covers tens of kilometres of stratigraphy and structures highly favourable for gold mineralization.

Drilling Program Details

The 2026 program includes a 24-hole drilling campaign totaling 3,500 metres, scheduled for July and August. The drilling will target the Ants, Ferricrete, Pump Pad Ridge, Canyon, and Didgeridoo areas. The Canyon and Didgeridoo zones have never been drill-tested, while the Ants area was previously tested by Midland with nine drill holes. The Ferricrete and Pump Pad Ridge showings (Kan area) were previously tested by Kennecott Canada Inc., Virginia Mines Inc., and Barrick Gold between 1990 and 2023.

A field campaign from June 6 to 17 conducted prospecting and drill site preparation, collecting 74 samples across these areas.

Ants Zone Highlights

Discovered on outcrop in 2018, the Ants mineralized zone features sulphides (1-15% pyrrhotite, traces of chalcopyrite) in a quartz diorite host rock altered to iron carbonates and albite, with quartz-carbonate veinlets. Visible gold has been observed in multiple locations. Channel sampling in 2018 returned intervals of 1.78 g/t Au over 23.3 metres (including 3.19 g/t Au over 10.0 metres), 3.33 g/t Au over 5.0 metres, and 2.22 g/t Au over 4.5 metres. A 2019 drilling campaign (nine holes, 910.5 metres) yielded best results of 1.81 g/t Au over 12.06 metres (including 2.99 g/t Au over 4.56 metres) and 2.09 g/t Au over 6.01 metres (including 4.05 g/t Au over 2.50 metres).

Didgeridoo Zone and Kan Acquisition

The Didgeridoo Zone, located 15 km southeast of the Kan area, consists of a 5-10 metre wide NW-SE trending shear zone with fault-filling quartz-calcite veins in gabbros and quartz diorites. Up to six occurrences of visible gold have been observed within a 100-metre stripped strike length, open at both ends. Midland acquired the Kan gold project in 2025, which includes numerous known gold occurrences. Previous channel sampling on the Didgeridoo Zone graded 2.30 g/t Au over 8.95 metres, including 3.56 g/t Au over 3.15 metres.

According to Midland, the 2026 drilling program aims to test these high-priority targets and expand the known mineralization.
