Innovation in Sustainable Materials Science
TekniPlex's innovation pipeline delivered several breakthroughs in healthcare and consumer products. In healthcare, the company co-developed advanced tri-layer tubing technology for insulin infusion sets in collaboration with a leading diabetes-care partner, extending wear time from approximately 3 days to up to 7–14 days, reducing material waste and improving patient comfort. Recycle-ready solutions included a PET push-through blister pack for pharmaceuticals and a polystyrene-free pressure seal liner (ProTecSeals ePressSeal liner). In consumer products, TekniPlex partnered with Alpura, a major Mexican dairy producer, to develop a 125g recyclable polypropylene yogurt cup using up to 36% less plastic than comparable formats, paired with an FSC-certified paper label.
