International superstar DJ Benny Benassi, widely considered the pioneer of electro-house music, is coming to Windsor for a unique show on Aug. 8, 2026. The event will take place on the ground level of the Pelissier Street parking garage, a surprising venue for the Grammy-winning artist who has headlined festivals across Europe and nightclubs in Las Vegas.
Event Details and Local Impact
The daylong event will shut down at least one street and bring 1,200 fans into the city core. Pelissier Street next to the parking garage will be closed for food trucks and local vendors. The show starts at 4 p.m. with local DJ acts, including Camden Finlay, co-owner of Prototype nightclub and 52Productions, which are hosting the concert and afterparty.
Opening acts on tour with Benassi are ESSENTIA and SQ4RE. Benassi will headline from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m., followed by an afterparty at Prototype where Benassi is expected to appear.
Community and Economic Boost
“This is a massive move for downtown,” said Ward 3 Coun. Renaldo Agostino, a friend of Benassi who helped make the show happen. “Anytime you can get a Triple A artist to come to your city, it’s a big deal. As someone with such a legendary history in this city, to have him come back one more time is massive.”
Brad Goldring, co-owner of Prototype and 52Productions, added: “We’re going to have production the likes of which the city hasn’t seen in a long time in a space like that. It’s going to be truly an impressive and memorable experience.”
Benassi's Legacy and Tour
Benassi took electro-house mainstream with his 2002 hit “Satisfaction” and won a Grammy in 2008 for his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring the Noise.” He has collaborated with Madonna, Chris Brown, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Kelis, T-Pain, and David Guetta. His new album “Feel The Bass” features the single “Superstar,” currently on the charts.
This is Benassi’s first Windsor show since 2011, when he played the Coming Home Music Festival. That era saw Windsor host major electronic acts like Steve Aoki, Avicii, and Richie Hawtin. “People would see the back of tour T-shirts, whether it was Benny Benassi or Armin van Buuren or deadmau5, and see that Windsor was on there,” said Agostino. “It made people feel a sense of pride in their city.”
Benassi’s Windsor show is one of only three Canadian tour stops this year, along with Quebec City and Toronto. “We’re probably the smallest city on the tour,” said Agostino. “But Benny loves us. He loves Windsor.”
Tickets and Availability
Tickets are released in phases up to $75. Early bird tickets are $35 and available at bennywindsor.ca. Organizers expect fans from London, Toronto, and Detroit due to Benassi’s massive draw.
