Two individuals are missing following reports that they fell from their paddleboards and did not resurface on Browning Lake, located south of Squamish. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, prompting a large-scale search operation.

Search Operation Underway

Officers from the Sea to Sky RCMP detachment responded to the scene around 3 p.m. on Saturday. The search involves multiple agencies, including Mounties, RCMP Air Services, Squamish Search and Rescue, Squamish Fire Rescue, and rangers from B.C. Parks.

Park Closure

Murrin Provincial Park, where Browning Lake is situated, was closed to the public on Saturday evening to facilitate the police investigation and allow search efforts to continue uninterrupted.

Location Details

Browning Lake is a small body of water located just off the Sea to Sky Highway, a few kilometres north of Britannia Beach. The area is popular for outdoor activities such as paddleboarding and hiking.
