Prince Albert National Park has released its schedule for the Victoria Day long weekend, detailing which facilities and services will be available to visitors. The park, a popular destination in Saskatchewan, will see adjusted hours for various amenities starting May 9, 2026.
Waskesiu Village Operations
The main entrance to Waskesiu will remain open throughout the weekend, but visitors should note that some services may have limited hours. The Waskesiu Visitor Centre will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday. The Waskesiu Golf Course is scheduled to open for the season, weather permitting, with tee times available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Campgrounds and Trails
All front-country campgrounds, including Beaver Glen and Red Deer, are open for reservation. Backcountry camping permits are available at the visitor centre. Day-use areas and hiking trails are accessible, but some trails may have wet conditions due to spring runoff. Visitors are advised to check trail reports before heading out.

- Grey Owl's Cabin: Accessible by hike or canoe, but the cabin interior remains closed for restoration.
Boat Launches and Marinas
The Waskesiu Marina boat launch is open, but the marina store will open later in May. The Kingsmere Lake boat launch is also accessible. Canoe and kayak rentals will be available starting Saturday at the Waskesiu Marina.
Wildlife Viewing and Safety
Park officials remind visitors to maintain a safe distance from wildlife, including bison, elk, and bears. Recent sightings of black bears have been reported along the Elk Ridge Trail. Food storage regulations are strictly enforced to prevent human-wildlife conflicts.
