Two members of the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police came to the rescue of a moose that became entangled in a wire fence on May 9. The incident occurred on Highway 6 near the bridge by the roadway, according to an OPP photo released with the story.
The officers spotted the distressed animal and quickly took action to free it from the fencing. The moose was successfully released and returned safely to its natural habitat, with no injuries reported.
The OPP reminded the public to exercise caution when encountering wildlife on roadways and to report any animals in distress to local authorities. The rescue highlights the importance of quick response by law enforcement to prevent harm to both animals and motorists.
