Kailas FUGA, a prominent name in outdoor sports, has introduced a new all-female elite trail team in Italy. The FUGA Mountain Club Talent Team brings together five exceptional Italian trail runners: Alice Minetti, Benedetta Broggi, Enrica Dematteis, Luisa Dematteis, and Nicol Guidolin. These athletes are recognized as some of the country's leading competitors in the sport.
Training Camp in San Pellegrino
The team recently completed a three-day training camp in San Pellegrino, focusing on advanced training, physiotherapy, nutrition workshops, and setting ambitious goals for the upcoming season. The camp provided a platform for the runners to enhance their skills and prepare for major events.
Athlete Achievements
Luisa Dematteis secured first place at the Vibram Trail Mottarone 60K in early May, while her twin sister Enrica finished third female at the Istria 100 by UTMB's 100K. Both twins are set to compete in the UTMB Finals 100M, alongside Nicol Guidolin, who placed third at the World Masters Mountain Running Championships Long Distance in 2025. Benedetta Broggi, winner of the Skymarathon Sentiere 4 Luglio – Vertical, will represent Italy in the Uphill race at the European Championships in Slovenia. Alice Minetti, ranked 9th in the 2025 Golden Trail Series, will kick off her 2026 season at the Ledro Sky Trentino in late May.
Empowering Women in Trail Running
Pippa Ebel, Leader of the FUGA Mountain Club in Europe, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative. "The Talent Team is very close to my heart. These five Italian women are incredibly inspiring role models. They are outstanding athletes while also being mothers, wives, doctors, and nurses. They demonstrate what is possible with passion and dedication, and I hope they encourage more women to join the start line."
The launch of the team is a key step for Kailas FUGA in supporting women in trail running and driving industry change. It follows the sponsorship of two all-female races: the Dolomiti Women's Trail, held on May 16th, and the Swiss Canyon Women's Trail, scheduled for September 11th, 2026. These events, sponsored by FUGA Mountain Club, are setting new standards in Italy and Switzerland.
