Pete Davidson, John Cleese, and Tiffany Haddish are set to headline the 2026 Just for Laughs Toronto festival, organizers announced on July 8. The comedy event, running from September 17 to 22, will feature more than 100 performers across multiple venues in the city.
Star-Studded Lineup
Davidson, known for his tenure on Saturday Night Live, will perform multiple shows during the festival. Cleese, the Monty Python legend, brings his signature wit to the stage. Haddish, a Grammy-nominated comedian, rounds out the top-tier headliners. Other notable acts include Canadian comedians like Mae Martin and Russell Peters, as well as international stars such as Jimmy Carr and Hannah Gadsby.
Festival Details
Just for Laughs Toronto will take place in various venues across the city, including the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, the Danforth Music Hall, and the Second City Theatre. According to organizers, over 100 shows are scheduled, with tickets going on sale July 15. The festival also includes free outdoor performances in Yonge-Dundas Square.
Industry Impact
The announcement comes as the live comedy industry continues to rebound post-pandemic. “We’re thrilled to bring such an incredible lineup to Toronto this year,” said festival director Bruce Hills in a statement. “This is our strongest lineup yet, and we expect record attendance.” The festival is expected to draw over 100,000 attendees, generating significant economic activity for the city.
