New Moon Folk Club Announces Exciting 2026-2027 Season Lineup
The New Moon Folk Club has officially revealed its 2026-2027 season, promising a vibrant series of acoustic performances that will delight music enthusiasts. The season kicks off on September 18, 2026, with the local Celtic rock sensation, the Derina Harvey Band, setting the stage at St. Basil's Cultural Centre in Edmonton. All shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m., offering a consistent evening of entertainment for attendees.
Diverse Musical Acts Throughout the Season
The lineup features a rich tapestry of artists, ensuring something for every folk music fan. On October 2, 2026, Generations takes the spotlight, showcasing a unique ensemble of musical families, including Billi Zizi with her father Cam Neufeld and Kaiya Kodie with her father Jason Kodie. This performance highlights the intergenerational connections within the folk community.
Following this, Australian bluesman Lloyd Spiegel will perform on October 16, 2026, bringing his soulful sounds to the stage. Grammy-winning roots superstar Colin Linden is set for October 30, 2026, adding a touch of award-winning talent to the season. November 2026 offers a double indie folk bill with Mia Kelly and the Eliza Mary Doyle Band on November 20, while The Sultans of String present their Christmas Caravan show on November 27.
Continuing into the New Year
As the season progresses into 2027, NMFC regular John Wort Hannam returns with his trio on January 22. Another double bill follows on February 19, featuring Terra Spencer with her cinematic folk songs and the amicable Ken Stead with his folk anthems. March brings genre-blending performances, starting with the chamber-grass Andrew Collins Trio on March 5, and the newgrass band led by Grammy-nominated mandolin player Jesse Cobb on March 19.
The season concludes with two final shows in April 2027. Saskatchewan's Jeffrey Straker will deliver a piano-driven performance on April 2, and Edmonton Folk Music Festival alumni Maggie's Wake will close out the season with Cajun-style twin fiddles on April 16.

Season passes for all 12 concerts are available for $344.60 at newmoonfolkclub.com.
