In an interview with Postmedia, AEW CEO, General Manager, and head of creative Tony Khan emphasized Canada's importance to the company's growth. "Canada continues to be a strong market for his company and that Vancouver is no exception," Khan stated, reflecting on the successful debut of AEW Collision in the city in May 2024.
Khan praised the Vancouver audience from that event, calling it an "amazing crowd" that was "incredibly passionate" and knowledgeable about AEW's product. That experience directly influenced the decision to bring a larger-scale event back. "I knew I wanted to bring the city a pay-per-view event in the future," Khan said, expressing confidence that "AEW Dynasty will be one of the best wrestling events ever held in Vancouver."
Building on a Landmark Year
The announcement comes as AEW capitalizes on what Khan describes as its strongest year yet. The promotion is riding high following its recent Full Gear pay-per-view, which Khan called "arguably its strongest of the year and one of its strongest all time."
Khan highlighted the consistent quality of AEW's weekly television programming and pay-per-view events throughout 2025, noting specific standout shows like Grand Slam Australia and Winter Is Coming. "I truly believe that 2025 has been AEW’s strongest year for the quality of our weekly TV shows and pay-per-view events," he remarked. The quick turnaround from September's All Out event in Toronto to the April date in Vancouver underscores the promotion's commitment to the Canadian market.

Fans eager to witness AEW Dynasty live can mark their calendars for the ticket sales schedule. A presale period will run from December 19 at 10 a.m. local time until December 21 at 11:59 p.m. This will be followed by the general public on-sale starting December 22 at 10 a.m. local time.
