A Festive Day of Pancakes and Stories
The day's merriment began at the Olde Towne Bake Shoppe, where Santa hosted a pancake breakfast with local children and their families. In a conversation with the Windsor Star, Santa shared a heartwarming observation about the kids he met. "Kids are talking to me more about what they're doing for the holidays, not so much what they want under the tree," he said. He interpreted this as a positive reflection of the community's values, noting a greater interest in family and friend activities than in material gifts.
Following the breakfast, the festive procession moved to the John Muir branch of the Windsor Public Library for a session of holiday story time and crafts. Meanwhile, Santa's head elf, Bernard, was notably absent, having remained at the North Pole to manage the crucial task of toy quality control.
Community Celebration and Tree Lighting
The community spirit Santa observed was on full display throughout the afternoon and evening. Sandwich Brewing Co. hosted holiday movie screenings and popcorn garland-making workshops, adding to the day's festive atmosphere.
