Rainy conditions failed to dampen the spirits of hundreds of families who gathered in LaSalle for an afternoon of vibrant "buskers-style" entertainment at the annual Spring Fling. The event, held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the LaSalle Event Centre, transformed indoor spaces into a hub of circus magic, arts-and-crafts activities, and sweet culinary delights.
Unexpected Boost from Inclement Weather
Organizers reported that the wet weather actually worked in their favor, drawing an even larger crowd than usual. Jordyn Rafuse, LaSalle's supervisor of recreation, shared with the Windsor Star that attendance numbers surged impressively. "Last year, we had about 800 people come in, and this year we were already at 750 just two hours into the event," Rafuse explained. "So I think the rain has actually helped us and worked out in our favour."
A Diverse Array of Indoor Attractions
With most activities moved indoors due to the rain, the Spring Fling offered a rich mix of experiences for all ages. Local vendors showcased a variety of goods, from handmade pottery and plush toys to delectable cupcakes. Food enthusiasts braved the drizzle to sample offerings from popular food trucks like Waffel Truck, Kona Ice, Whamburg, and Mojos Rollin Taco.
The entertainment lineup was a major highlight, featuring captivating circus acts that kept audiences enthralled. Performers included Ring Master K, aerialist Carly Del Pup, Bella Magic, the Lucky Barber Show, and the Kobbler Jay Show. Stilt walkers added a whimsical touch, towering above the crowds, while Boots the River Troll wandered the floor, delighting children and adults alike.

Rafuse emphasized the strong community response to such free events. "We get a really great response from the community when we have these free community events," she said. "We try and have sections for everybody – a little bit of vendors, entertainment, and some activities going on. It's a nice mix." She particularly noted the joy on children's faces during the performances, stating, "I love seeing the kids' faces every time they see them do something cool."
