"This upcoming season marks an exciting moment in my journey with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra," Zeitouni notes. "It is the first full season where I was deeply involved in shaping the artistic vision from beginning to end, and I'm thrilled to share programs that highlight the remarkable artistry of this orchestra."

Music enthusiasts can look forward to two nights dedicated to the enchanting scores from Studio Ghibli animated films, featuring the compositions of Joe Hisaishi. This special presentation, scheduled for May 28-29, 2027, will transport audiences to the magical worlds created by Hayao Miyazaki.

The season will culminate with a particularly unique collaboration as John de Lancie, best known for his portrayal of the iconic character Q from Star Trek: The Next Generation, makes his ESO debut. De Lancie will narrate Grieg's Peer Gynt during the season finale on June 11-12, 2027, bringing his distinctive vocal presence to this classical masterpiece.
