AEW Redemption Pay-Per-View Coming to Montreal in July

All Elite Wrestling will debut a new pay-per-view event, Redemption, in Montreal this July. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, at the Bell Centre, marking the first AEW pay-per-view to take place in Montreal and the second in Canada this year, following Vancouver's Dynasty event.

AEW CEO Tony Khan on Montreal's Wrestling Legacy

"Montreal's one of the greatest wrestling cities in the world," said Tony Khan, CEO, GM and Head of Creative for AEW, in an exclusive interview with Postmedia. "There's such a rich history of professional wrestling. This will be a special event. It's the first-ever AEW Redemption and it's also the first-ever AEW pay-per-view in Montreal."

The AEW roster includes notable names such as Adam Copeland and Christian Cage (formerly Edge and Christian in WWE), Hangman Adam Page, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Kyle Fletcher, MJF, Ricochet, and Tommaso Ciampa. Copeland and Cage recently won the AEW World Tag Team Championships in an 'I Quit' New York Street Fight match, and Khan confirmed that the Canadian duo is expected to appear on the card in July.

Copeland and Cage: A Legendary Team

"Copeland and Christian are red hot right now," Khan added. "It's the first time they've held world tag team championships in many years and it's the first time they've been the World Tag Team champions in AEW. To have one of the most legendary teams in the history of pro wrestling come together, that's special."

Potential Appearance by Mick Foley

Khan also hinted at a possible appearance by wrestling legend Mick Foley, who recently joined AEW as a co-host with Renee Paquette during the Double or Nothing Buy In. "There's a good chance Mick could come," Khan said. "He's doing a lot of the AEW events, and I'm sure he's going to want to be there. I can't say 100% for certain, but I think there's a very high likelihood that Mick will be attending and hosting the event in Montreal."

Khan expressed his enthusiasm for Foley's signing, noting his childhood admiration for Foley's Cactus Jack persona. "I'm a huge fan of Mick. I've grown up watching him. Cactus Jack was one of my favourite villains in my childhood, and I'm really excited to have Cactus Jack coming back to TBS now as part of AEW with Mick Foley joining the team."
