In a new AI-generated video posted to X and Truth Social, Donald Trump took aim at his most vocal celebrity critics, offering a 'treatment plan' for what he calls 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' (TDS). The clip, viewed over 40 million times, features fake testimonials from celebrities including Robert De Niro, Julia Roberts, Rosie O'Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, John Leguizamo, and Edward Norton.
Trump's 'Treatment Plan' for TDS
'Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with TDS?' Trump begins in the video. 'The symptoms can be relentless. Fortunately, I'm Dr. Trump and I have a treatment plan.' The fake celebrities describe suffering from anxiety, anger, and insomnia due to their obsession with Trump. The phony De Niro says, 'I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep, constantly angry. I made everyone miserable around me.' The knockoff Roberts adds, 'I feel like I've aged 20 years in the last two years.'
Trump's 'simple' plan: 'Turn off fake news, say your prayers, and if you ever feel anxious, just have a Diet Coke like me. You're gonna see a remarkable difference in your life.' The fake Goldberg claims to see a difference after using the plan, and the bogus Norton says, 'I just needed help.'
Trump vs. De Niro: A Long-Running Feud
Trump and De Niro have exchanged barbs for years. After Trump's 80th birthday last month, De Niro said, 'When I hear Trump say, “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation, not even a little bit,” I say, “Shut the f*** up.”' Earlier this year, De Niro broke down in tears on a podcast, calling Trump 'sadistic' and 'the enemy of this country.' Trump responded by calling De Niro 'sick and demented' and comparing him unfavorably to Rosie O'Donnell.
Is TDS a Real Condition?
Trump has claimed TDS is a genuine disease, stating at a May White House event, 'I'm hearing it is actually a disease.' Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reportedly supports declaring it a certified mental illness. Psychotherapist Jonathan Alpert told Fox News that 75% of his liberal patients suffer from TDS, describing symptoms like fixation, insomnia, and feeling traumatized by Trump. In 2025, Minnesota Republican lawmakers proposed legislation to include TDS as a mental illness, defining it as 'the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal persons that is in reaction to the policies and presidencies of President Donald J. Trump.' The bill did not pass.
