Singha beer heir fired after brother accuses him of sexual abuse in emotional video
Singha beer heir fired after brother's sexual abuse accusation

The heir to the Singha beer empire has been fired after his younger brother revealed in an emotional video that he was sexually abused by his older sibling during childhood.

Allegations of Sexual Abuse

Sunit “Pi” Scott lost his position at Boon Rawd Brewery after his brother, Siranudh “Psi” Scott, made shocking allegations in a video posted on social media. Psi claimed that his entire family was aware of the abuse but failed to protect him.

In the clip posted on May 9, Psi alleged that he had been abused for more than a decade. He stated that he was forced to perform oral sex on his brother multiple times, according to Thai outlet the Thaiger. The 29-year-old conservation activist also lashed out at his parents, saying he played them a recording of his brother’s confession, yet they still did not take action.

“I don’t want anyone to call me a Singha heir. People don’t know the truth,” Psi said as he sobbed. “Everyone in my family knows because they listened to the tape I recorded of his ‘confession’ but no one took action,” he revealed.

Psi continued, “I don’t know what to do. I know I cannot live like this. I don’t want to stay in a family that doesn’t value me or have empathy for me. I can’t live with these kinds of people.” He then addressed his brother directly, saying, “What you did to me … many times over the years, when you were 14 or 16. Pi, that affected me.”

Denial and Response

Pi denied his brother’s accusations, issuing a public statement in a video days after Psi made his allegations public. “The claim about the sexual assault is untrue,” Pi said in the clip, according to the outlet. “Everyone who knows me can confirm that I would never do such a thing, as it is disgusting and terrible,” he added.

Pi acknowledged that he and his brother often argued during their childhood and admitted some incidents became “rough,” but insisted no sexual abuse took place.

Recorded Confession

Psi has since shared an audio clip of the alleged recorded conversation with Pi, in which the younger brother said he was forced to perform oral sex on Pi when he was around 10 or 11 years old, while Pi was about 16. He told his brother that the experience left him unable to form relationships later in life.

Pi defended himself, saying he was too young at the time to realize what he was doing was wrong, but Psi rejected that defence, stating Pi was definitely old enough to understand the impact of his actions. The older sibling has not publicly commented on the alleged confession recording.

Corporate Action

Boon Rawd Brewery, known for its Singha and Leo beers, has since “removed” Pi “from all company positions” following Psi’s allegations. The brewery, established in 1933, said it is cooperating with authorities in a statement that included Pi’s resignation letter.
