Lisa Rinna Exclaims Former Co-Star Made Her Life a 'Living Hell'
In a shocking revelation from her new memoir, Lisa Rinna has publicly identified the actor she describes as the 'biggest bully in Hollywood.' The former Days of Our Lives star claims her time working with Robert Kelker-Kelly on the iconic NBC daytime drama was nothing short of torturous.
Memoir Details Abusive On-Set Behavior
Rinna's book, titled 'You Better Believe I'm Gonna Talk About It,' pulls back the curtain on what she characterizes as a hostile working environment. She joined the soap opera in 1992 as Billie Reed, just months after Kelker-Kelly took over the role of Bo Brady from original actor Peter Reckell.
'Behind the scenes, we hated each other,' Rinna writes candidly. 'He was horrible to me. I'd go so far as to say verbally abusive.' The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star details a pattern of behavior that included passive-aggressive tactics, manipulation, and what she calls 'weird mind games.'
Unpredictable Atmosphere and Security Concerns
The actress describes Kelker-Kelly as 'a ticking time bomb' whose unpredictable moods created constant tension. 'I never knew when I arrived on set each morning if I'd get nice Robert Kelker-Kelly or dark Robert Kelker-Kelly,' she recalls. 'It was exhausting.'
Rinna reveals that the situation escalated to the point where NBC provided her and co-star Kristian Alfonso with full-time security detail after Kelker-Kelly mysteriously disappeared from set one day. 'We had rent-a-cops parked outside our houses and trailers for three weeks,' she notes, adding that while she wasn't worried about physical harm, the network needed to 'cover their ass.'
Regrets and Reflections
Looking back, Rinna expresses regret about not confronting the behavior more forcefully at the time. 'I regret that I didn't stand up to Robert,' she writes. 'I was too young, and I was not willing to make waves at my awesome new job. I still lacked assertiveness and self-confidence when it came to men.'
The actress left Days of Our Lives in 1995, the same year Reckell returned to reclaim his role as Bo Brady. Rinna concludes with a pointed observation about how she would handle such behavior today: 'If Robert Kelker-Kelly was in my Housewives orbit today, he never would have gotten away with his behavior.'
