Jimmy Kimmel Skeptical of Trump's Epstein Files Reversal
Kimmel Questions Trump's Epstein Files Shift

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has voiced strong skepticism about President Donald Trump's abrupt reversal on releasing documents connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The comedian suggested there's more to the story than meets the eye.

Sudden Policy Reversal Raises Eyebrows

During his Tuesday night monologue, Kimmel pointed to Trump's dramatic change in position regarding the Epstein files. After working for months to block their release and pressuring Republicans to oppose a House petition, the President recently shifted gears and urged Congress to pass the disclosure measure.

The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly in favor of releasing the documents with a 427-1 margin, while the Senate approved the bill unanimously. Kimmel suggested this overwhelming support was strategic, noting that such a large majority would make it difficult for Trump to exercise veto power.

Potential Roadblocks Remain

Despite congressional approval, Kimmel warned that the battle over the Epstein files is far from over. He identified several ways Trump and his allies could still delay or prevent full disclosure.

The Department of Justice maintains the authority to withhold information to protect ongoing investigations, safeguard innocent individuals, or for national security reasons. Critics have raised concerns about the timing of a new Justice Department probe into Epstein, launched just days before Trump changed his position.

Kimmel sarcastically commented on the DOJ's powers, saying they could withhold entire documents, photos, and videos, while adding: "But they would never do anything like that, would they? They're sworn to protect the Constitution of the United States."

Maxwell Connection and Suspicious Timing

The comedian drew particular attention to Ghislaine Maxwell's recent prison transfer and her statements about Trump. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking and grooming underage girls for Epstein.

In August, she was moved to a minimum-security prison camp in Texas after telling Justice Department officials she "never witnessed" Trump "in any inappropriate setting in any way." At her new facility, Maxwell has access to various perks, including a service puppy.

Kimmel described Trump's change of heart as happening faster than "that dog Ghislaine Maxwell gets to play with in her country club prison," emphasizing the suspicious nature of the timing and Maxwell's recent cooperation with authorities.

The late-night host concluded that Trump's sudden support for document release doesn't guarantee full transparency, warning viewers to remain skeptical about whether all the Epstein files will ultimately see the light of day.
