Jimmy Kimmel took aim at President Donald Trump on Tuesday night for his repeated boasts about performing well on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), a test designed to detect cognitive impairment, not measure intelligence.
Trump's Latest Claims
During a National Memorial Day Parade event on Monday, Trump once again bragged about his test performance. He mentioned identifying a horse among a group of animals and described a made-up math section involving multiplication and division. Kimmel played a clip of Trump's remarks, calling it his "classic 'I'm-smart-because-I-aced-a-test-they-give-victims-of-head-injuries' routine."
Kimmel's Response
Kimmel mocked Trump's claims, stating, "He's mommy's smartest little boy. I'm so proud of him." He explained that the MoCA test is incredibly easy and contains no math equations. "Even his lies are lies," Kimmel said.
Kimmel also theorized that Trump's fixation on the test stems from his sensitivity about mental fitness, which he frequently used against former President Joe Biden. Additionally, Kimmel noted Trump's recent physical examination, his third in just over a year, and joked about whether Trump knows he's going to the hospital or if he's tricked like a dog going to the vet.
Kimmel's monologue highlighted the absurdity of Trump's claims and his need to prove his mental acuity through a simple test.
