The high-profile marriage between Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman and country music star Keith Urban has officially come to an end. The divorce was finalized this week, marking the conclusion of their 19-year union.
Details of the Divorce Settlement
The legal dissolution was finalized three months after Kidman initially filed for divorce in late September 2025, citing irreconcilable differences. According to court documents filed on Tuesday and reported by outlets like the Daily Mail, both parties have agreed to waive all rights to spousal and child support. This decision was based on the fact that both Kidman and Urban individually earn monthly incomes exceeding $100,000.
The custody arrangement for their two teenage daughters has been established. Kidman will have primary custody of Sunday, 17, and Faith, 15. Keith Urban will have visitation rights, scheduled for every other weekend.
Division of Assets and Legal Proceedings
All property, including bank accounts, investments, vehicles, and personal items, is to be divided by mutual agreement. The settlement states that each will retain possession of the assets currently in their name. Both celebrities are also responsible for covering their own legal fees. It remains publicly unknown whether a prenuptial agreement was in place.
A court hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, but Kidman waived her right to appear as she had travelled to Australia the day prior.
The Unraveling of a Hollywood Romance
Rumors of trouble in the marriage first surfaced in September. Reports indicated that Kidman had hoped to avoid separation and worked to save the relationship. However, by September 30, she had filed for divorce. The couple had reportedly been living separately since the summer of 2025.
During this period, speculation linked Keith Urban romantically to his guitarist, Maggie Baugh, but those rumors were publicly shut down by a friend of Baugh.
Kidman and Urban first met at a G’Day USA gala event in January 2005 and married one year later. This was Kidman's second marriage; she was previously wed to actor Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001, with whom she shares two adult children, Bella and Conner.
The finalized divorce closes a significant chapter for one of entertainment's most watched couples, with both parties moving forward independently under the terms of their private settlement.
