Jack White Delivers Scathing Critique of Trump's Foreign Policy and Fashion Choices

Rock icon Jack White unleashed a pointed critique of former President Donald Trump on Saturday, following Trump's national address about deadly military strikes against Iran. The White Stripes frontman, a frequent critic of Trump, took to his Instagram page to lampoon both the substance and style of the announcement.

Mocking the 'Board of Peace' and Presidential Attire

White swiftly highlighted Trump's fashion statement in the video, where the former president wore a white hat emblazoned with "USA." "Behold the leader of the 'Board of Peace,'" White wrote sarcastically, referencing the Trump-led panel that aims to be a "bold new approach to resolving global conflict." This initiative has seen limited international participation, with many major nations declining to join.

The musician suggested absurd scenarios for future war announcements, writing: "For the next war announcement donny, may I suggest having your feet up on the Resolute desk while eating a Big Mac in a velvet track suit?" This comment underscored his view of Trump's approach as casual and unserious regarding grave military matters.

Criticizing Foreign Policy Consistency

White listed several countries that have faced threats from Trump over the past year, including Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, and Cuba. He pointedly asked, "Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba, what's the difference right?" This remark implied a perceived lack of strategic distinction in Trump's foreign policy. He specifically mentioned Venezuela, where President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were captured in a deadly nighttime attack in January.

The rock star also took aim at the personal stakes of military actions, noting that Trump's children, Don Jr. and Barron, would not have to fight, unlike others. He wrote, "don jr. and barron won't have to fight or die, just other people's children, so...invade and bomb away!"

Satirizing the 'Board of Peace' and Nobel Prize Aspirations

White further teased that Trump would be taking bids starting at $1 billion to join his "Board of Peace," mocking the commercial aspects of the initiative. He concluded with biting sarcasm about Trump's aspirations for recognition, stating, "Can you believe donny hasn't received a real Nobel Peace Prize yet? Unfair! Maybe in his third term he'll get one."

Other Celebrities Join the Criticism

Other celebrities also weighed in on the attacks. Trump's longtime foe Rosie O'Donnell, who moved from the U.S. to Ireland last year, shared screenshots on Instagram of Trump's past comments. One from 2024 claimed Kamala Harris was the candidate of "endless wars" while he was the "candidate of peace." O'Donnell captioned the post, "he lies only and always #impeachtrump."

Additionally, "The Gilded Age" star Carrie Coon posted on X, referring to the Trump administration's rebranding of the Pentagon. She wrote, "'Department of War.' They weren't kidding about that," highlighting a cynical view of the administration's military focus.

This wave of celebrity criticism reflects ongoing public debate over Trump's foreign policy actions and rhetorical style, with figures like Jack White using satire to question the coherence and sincerity of his initiatives like the "Board of Peace."
