Haddish Advises Kimmel to Take Trump as His Date

Tiffany Haddish, guest hosting "Jimmy Kimmel Live," on Wednesday congratulated the show's staff for its six Emmy nominations, then offered blunt advice to Jimmy Kimmel about President Donald Trump.

Haddish's Advice to Kimmel

"Jimmy, I hope you do the right thing and take Donald Trump as your date," she said. "No one's given you more material than that dude. He's the best writer you got."

As the first guest host of the summer, Haddish has continued Kimmel's tradition of joking about the president each night. One joke earlier in the week even prompted a response from the White House.

White House Responds

"The president is very focused on issues that matter right now — and apparently, I'm one of them," Haddish announced with glee. "I got a shout out from the White House today."

Haddish mocked Trump for meddling in the World Cup for the USA, only for the team to lose to Belgium shortly after. "It seems like everything Trump touches dies — which I guess is why his tiny hands are all fucked up," she cracked on Tuesday.

According to Haddish, "some little snitch at USA Today" asked the White House for comment on the joke. "Who the hell is Tiffany Haddish?" White House spokesperson David Ingle told the newspaper.

Haddish celebrated the mention. "This is exciting. The White House is mad at me, y'all," she said. "This is the day that I finally become Jimmy Kimmel."
