General Hospital Star Kirsten Storms Gets Restraining Order Amid Mental Health Crisis
General Hospital Star Storms Gets Restraining Order

General Hospital star Kirsten Storms' ex-husband, Brandon Barash, has been granted a restraining order amid concerns for her mental health. The 46-year-old actor filed the request, citing a “mental health crisis” that he claims affects Storms' ability to care for their 12-year-old daughter, according to TMZ.

Barash, who was married to Storms from 2013 to 2016 after meeting on the set of General Hospital, stated that his concerns began after both moved separately to Tennessee following their divorce. He alleged a series of troubling incidents, including an eviction lawsuit from Storms' landlord and ongoing housing instability.

Financial and Behavioral Concerns

Barash claimed he loaned Storms $5,000 when her car was about to be repossessed, but she has not repaid the debt. He also recounted an incident from May 2025 when Storms contacted him, saying she was “experiencing delusions and hallucinations” and felt unable to care for their daughter during her parenting time. According to Barash, his current wife, Isabella Devoto, took Storms to a hospital, where she was placed on a psychiatric hold.

In November 2025, Storms allegedly called Barash with claims that people were breaking into her apartment, moving items, and placing them in her car to “mess with her.” Barash also cited a friend's report that Storms is abusing Adderall and potentially other substances, and that she has had “repeated episodes of melting down, being triggered, hearing things/voices that weren’t there.”

Legal and Medical Background

Barash has requested that the court compel Storms to undergo a mental health evaluation. Currently, Storms is allowed supervised visits with their daughter. A judge is scheduled to review the restraining order this week.

Storms, 42, has played Maxie on General Hospital since 2005, though she took a six-month leave of absence last summer due to a brain aneurysm diagnosis. She returned to the show in February but has only appeared in a few episodes, with her last airing in March. In an Instagram post last October, Storms detailed her medical journey, including a 2021 brain surgery to remove a cyst and a subsequent procedure for an aneurysm. She cited stress as a contributing factor and emphasized the importance of moving from Los Angeles for her physical and mental health, as well as her overall happiness.
