Colbert Reveals What He'll Miss Most About 'Late Show' Cancellation
Colbert on What He'll Miss Most After 'Late Show' Ends

During a special episode of the 'Strike Force Five' podcast, 'Late Night' host Stephen Colbert opened up about what he will miss most about his CBS show, which is set to end next week. Joined by fellow late-night hosts Seth Meyers, John Oliver, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon, Colbert reflected on the people behind the scenes.

Colbert's Fondest Memories

'I think one of the things I'm going to miss most is young people who are good at their jobs,' Colbert said. 'And who you met, and they were first out of college or something like that. Like, I was talking to one of my producers the other day. He's worked for me for 21 years, and he started working for me when he was 21.' Meyers responded, 'Unbelievable.'

Reasons Behind the Cancellation

CBS announced last year that it would cancel the long-running show after 11 seasons with Colbert, citing low ratings. However, many speculated that the true reason was Colbert's political views, as CBS's parent company, Paramount Global, is owned by David Ellison, a staunch ally of President Donald Trump. Colbert noted, 'I have had a great relationship with CBS. It's one of the reasons why this was so surprising and so shocking that there was no preamble to this.'
