Found Festival brings art to unconventional spaces in Edmonton

The Found Festival returns to Edmonton this weekend, transforming unconventional spaces into vibrant stages for performance art. The festival, which runs from July 11 to 13, 2026, showcases over 30 artists in locations such as alleys, parking lots, and parks.

Festival highlights and venues

Performances are held at Light Horse Park and other unexpected sites across the city. Attendees can expect a mix of theatre, dance, and interactive installations. According to festival organizers, the goal is to challenge traditional notions of where art can be experienced.

“We want people to discover art in places they wouldn’t normally expect,” said artistic director Sarah Thompson. “It’s about making creativity accessible and surprising.”

Community engagement and impact

The festival also includes workshops and community discussions. Local artists and volunteers have been preparing for months, with many performances addressing themes of urban life and environmental awareness.

“Found Festival is a celebration of Edmonton’s creative spirit,” added Thompson. “We’re thrilled to see the community come together.”
